From Saturday 29 November 2025 until mid-2026, Shorncliffe station will close for major station renewal and accessibility upgrades.
This means Shorncliffe line services will not stop at Shorncliffe for the duration of the works, running between Brisbane City and Sandgate station instead.
While the station is closed, alternative transport options will be available, including a new railbus service - R346 Sandgate to Shorncliffe station service.
See all the alternative travel options below.
Key renewal and upgrade features
- High-level platform raised to accessible boarding point
- Upgraded hearing augmentation loops and tactile ground surface indicators
- Upgraded security cameras and lighting
- Essential station facilities, including accessible toilets
- New wayfinding and platform signage
- Restoration of the old station building and existing awning
- Two new platform seats
Alternative travel options
The new R346 will run between Sandgate and Shorncliffe stations.
This is a temporary service running for the duration of the Shorncliffe station closure.
Timetables
Service frequency will match the Shorncliffe line schedule at Sandgate station.
We're still working on timetables for this new service. Once ready, all times will be available in the journey planner.
Stops serviced
This existing service travels between Sandgate and Shorncliffe, with stops at Sandgate Central, Eagle Terrace, Shorncliffe State School, Saint Patricks College and Moora Park along the way.
Depending on your travel plans, it may be faster to catch the 313 to Sandgate and transfer to the train there.
Route 313 runs on weekdays, excluding public holidays.
