Get on board with better bus services!

Your new Gympie bus network makes it easier to get around. Improvements we've made include:

  • more frequent and reliable services
  • extended hours
  • wider coverage
  • better connections
  • more buses where they're needed most.

There has been timetable, route and stop changes for routes 760, 761, 762, 763, 764, 765, 766, 767 and 799 (formerly 769).

Plus, two new bus routes (768 and 769) give Gympie North and Southside better access to public transport.

Earlier this year, we invited the community to have their say on the proposed changes to Gympie's bus network.

We engaged with around 800 people, and received more than 100 pieces of feedback, with overwhelming support for the proposed changes received.

We've introduced two new bus routes to improve access to public transport in Gympie North and Southside.

Route 768Jones Hill to Gympie Central via Town Centre
  • Runs Monday to Saturday
  • Direct access to Gympie Central Shopping Centre, Jones Hill State School, Gympie South State School and Goldfields Plaza
Route 769 (new)*Town Centre to Fairway Drive
  • Runs Monday to Friday
  • Direct access to Gympie General Hospital, Fairway Drive, Two Mile and Gympie North

*The existing route 769 has been renamed and renumbered to route 799

  • The route has been extended to Gympie Hospital.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual. 

  • The route has been realigned to be more direct.
  • A new afternoon trip has been added to increase travel options for TAFE and University students travelling to the Town Centre, and Cooinda residents returning home.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

  • The route is extended to Gympie East and realigned to be more direct.
  • A new afternoon trip has been added to make it easier to head home.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

  • The route is extended to Gympie Aquatic and Recreation Centre and realigned to improve travel to Gympie Town Centre and the Civic Centre and improve efficiency.
  • A new afternoon trip has been added to make it easier to head home.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

  • The route is extended to Gympie Central Shopping Centre and realigned to improve the local bus network.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

  • These routes travel in both directions between Bunnings and Gympie Town Centre, with more trips on weekdays.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

  • The route has improved access to Southside, with more trips to Southside shops and Gympie Town Centre, along with a new route alignment.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

  • Route 769 is renumbered to route 799.
  • The service only runs on Saturdays.
  • The new route improves access to Gympie North and the NestlĂ© Factory and will provide services for residents of Gympie Pines Estate at Fairway and Ridgeview Drive, as well as new residents in Royal Pines estate on Corella Road.
  • There are timetable adjustments, so your bus may arrive or leave earlier or later than usual.

New and closed stops

We've added new stops to your network, so you have better access to the places you care about.

To deliver these network improvements, we've had to close some stops and redirect routes.
